Description: Cheyenne Weil, master wax carver, jeweler, and designer, will be joining The Foundry for three days dedicated to the art of wax carving.
Known for her incredibly fine, intricate work, Cheyenne specializes in reduction-style wax carving—a process of carefully removing and refining material to achieve precise forms, crisp lines, and exceptionally fine detail.
Cheyenne will guide you through both foundational and advanced wax carving techniques: from transferring patterns and designs to wax, to choosing and using carving tools, shaping and refining your work, and achieving the fine details and clean finish that set exceptional wax carvings apart.
Over the course of three days, you’ll develop the skills to take a design from concept to a refined, casting-ready wax model.
Dates: Saturday - Monday, February 20-22 / 10A-4P
*4 person minimum for class to run
Prerequisite: Prior jewelry-making experience is encouraged for maximum learning, but not necessary. Please consider one of the other foundational intensives that we offer if you don’t have prior jewelry-making experience.
Tuition: $650 (Includes wax, stones, and supplies). Does not include casting or tools you choose to purchase.
